During our full day tutorial “Lessons Learned in Test Management” we will share our experience over the last decade with the Test Management model “Risk and Requirement Based Testing” (RRBT). This model integrates all the activities of the test manager from the start of a test project until the transfer of the system to maintenance. The speakers of the tutorial were co-developers of this model 10 years ago.

We are still fully behind this model, but 10 years of experience has shown that the model has to be adapted to the specific project situations. We have used the model in different size projects: from small test projects for administrative systems to large migration programs. These projects were executed at different types of companies: banks, governmental organisations, service companies, etc.. All these companies come with their own specifics. This is the experience we like to share with you during this tutorial. This will help you in your specific situation to set-up the best possible test management process.

Besides these experiences we will also incorporate “new” influences like Lean, Six Sigma and Agile. We think that these approaches will become more and more mainstream as we have seen various projects starting and incorporating them. We will align these approaches with RRBT and will explore how they can benefit from each other.

To give you a little inside in our day program: after an introduction of the full breadth of the Test Management Model, we will focus on:

• The combination of Risk & Requirement Based Testing;
• Experiences with successful test strategies based in several contexts;
• Using Lean principles to optimise test management;
• Adapting test management to a fast changing Agile environment;
• The changing role of the test manager.

The tutorial is intended for people who manage test projects and want to know more about how to get a grip on the testing process. Practical tips, exercises and relevant material are provided to the participants.

We hope to see you at our tutorial on Monday the 5th of November.
