EuroSTAR Gala Awards Night
The highlight of the conference each year, an amazing evening dedicated to celebrating our community. On Wednesday November 13th we will host the highly anticipated EuroSTAR Awards Ceremony where we will showcase the very best of EuroSTAR. The night includes; inspirational awards, delicious food & drink and chance to meet leading lights in testing in a relaxed environment.
For the past 26 years we have celebrated great testing and great testers. The EuroSTAR Awards recognise truly inspirational individuals who helped to shape the testing world. At this years Gala Awards night we will present the following awards: The 20th annual Testing Excellence Award, which is highly sought after and has an impressive Hall of Fame of past winners who epitomise the very spirit of testing and continually contribute to the community as a whole, the new EuroSTAR Rising STAR Award, which seeks to recognise new voices in the testing world, a tester with a brilliant idea that will benefit the community. Many of the greatest minds in testing have committed to mentoring the winner as ‘Supporters’ of the RisingSTAR Award. Also awarded is the annual Best Tutorial Award, the Best Conference Paper Award which speakers at EuroSTAR may enter for.
This years conference awards night will be held in the Zofin Palace. The beautiful Žofín Palace, built in the Renaissance Revival architectural style, is one of Pragues most notable architectural treasures. Žofín Palace is used for important social events, conferences, concerts and balls. The Large Hall at Žofín regularly hosts the most prominent personalities from business, politics and the arts in Czech Republic and abroad, and will make a fabulous location for the 2019 EuroSTAR Awards dinner.
In 1835, when Václav Novotný decided to build the first brick building on Slavonic Island, he had no idea that the one-storied neoclassical building named after the mother of Emperor Franz Joseph I, Princess Sophie (or Žofie in Czech), would become one of the most important cultural and social centers in Prague and the Czech Lands as a whole.
In 1884 the municipality bought the whole island, including Žofín, and over the next two years it converted the building into the present neorenaissance palace with richly decorated interiors and fine halls that have now been part of the Czech (and not only Czech) culture for the last 150 years. On November 5, 1882 the first performance of Smetana’s My Country in its entirety took place at Žofín, and four years earlier, on November 17, 1878, Antonín Dvořák held his first concert here. The hall at Žofín also hosted performances of Zdeněk Fibich’s works; Berlioz, Liszt, Tchaikovsky and Wagner all appeared here, and Jan Kubelík had his debut here.
Join us in magnificent Žofín, on Wednesday 13th November for the 2019 EuroSTAR Gala Awards dinner where we will honour our software testing community, presenting the Best Tutorial & Best Paper Awards from the 2019 conference, as well as The RisingSTAR Award and The EuroSTAR Testing Excellence Awards.
An amazing location to celebrate all that’s amazing about the EuroSTAR community!
