What is Wellness?

Wellness. In 2019, it can seem more like a buzzword – a state of being that’s highly elusive in our hectic lifestyles. But what does wellness really mean?

In fact, wellness has been around since 3000 B.C. It was a ‘holistic system that aimed to create harmony between body, mind and spirit’. Wellness is more than being free from any physical ailments. A person canu can suffer from a chronic illness, but still strive to be well.

Instead, wellness is about becoming aware, and deciding to make choices for a healthy and fulfilling life. It’s the small (or even tiny) steps you take every day to look after yourself. It can be recognizing a bad habit and addressing it. Taking better care of yourself, whether that’s starting a new hobby or going back to an old one. It’s learning to recognize when it’s time to recharge your batteries, to seek help when you need it.

Simply put – it’s about committing to basic practices, day in and day out, as individuals and communities. That’s where we come in.

Wellness at EuroSTAR

Community is at the heart of everything we do at EuroSTAR, and that means looking after everyone within it! And we’re not just talking out of our (yoga) mats. We’re actively committed to making wellness a part of our conference, with activities to help you in body and spirit.

We will host the annual EuroSTAR 5km Fun Run on Wed 13th Nov. Join us at 7:30 am and kick-start your day with a lovely walk, jog or run in Prague. Register for fun run.

Quiet Room

The Quiet Room is exactly what it sounds like: an oasis of peace where you can rest and reset any time that you feel you need to during the conference. The Quiet Room is device-free, meaning you can also get a break from that pesky blue light. The first rule of Quiet Room is that you don’t talk about – well, anything. Silence is a must!

All information will be included in our joining instructions email at the end of October. Details will also be available on the app, which you will get access to before the conference.
