Artificial Intelligence is reshaping how we think about accessibility testing. In this session, we’ll explore practical, hands-on ways AI can become your partner in creating more inclusive digital experiences.

Whether you’re just beginning your accessibility testing journey or looking to level up your toolkit, this workshop will guide you through the full spectrum of possibilities—A to Z.

We’ll start with how AI can act as a teacher, helping you learn accessibility testing techniques by breaking down WCAG requirements, explaining code-level issues, and offering context-sensitive guidance. From there, we’ll move into building and accelerating your own automated test suites, using AI to generate, validate, and refine test cases faster than ever before.

But AI isn’t a silver bullet. We’ll address what AI can’t do—where human judgment, empathy, and creativity remain essential in testing and design. This balance between automation and human insight is the key to truly inclusive outcomes.

The session will also cover using AI to speed up manual accessibility auditing, reducing repetitive effort while still ensuring rigorous, high-quality results. We’ll dive into creative applications, including building your own bookmarklets and browser extensions with AI support—small, powerful tools that make accessibility testing more efficient and approachable.

Finally, we’ll explore how to leverage AI as your personal research assistant to stay up to date with the rapidly evolving field of accessibility, ensuring your knowledge and practices remain current.

By the end of this workshop, you’ll walk away with practical strategies, code snippets, and frameworks to integrate AI into your workflow—without losing sight of the human values at the heart of accessibility.

Jaunita Flessas founded Empower Accessibility and globa11y, a social enterprise that trains and employs disabled technologists. Previously she led enterprise accessibility at Navy Federal Credit Union. She contributes to the W3C Accessibility Guidelines Working Group and her credentials include CPWA, DHS Trusted Tester, PMP, SAFe Agilist, and APX.

Norwegian Directorate of Labor and Welfare, Norway

Ina Tsvetkova is a Senior Advisor in Digital Accessibility and Inclusive Design at the Norwegian Directorate of Labour and Welfare (NAV). She is a PhD candidate in Computer Science, IAAP Nordic Advisory Council member, Certified Professional in Web Accessibility (CPWA), DHS Trusted Tester, and ISTQB Advanced Level Test Manager and Test Analyst.
