Make Management Listen: QA Stories That Build Confidence

Chris Mastnak

13:30 - 17:00 CEST, Monday 15th June

Too often, QA reports overwhelm leaders with test-case counts instead of giving them the confidence to ship.In this Workshop, participants will move beyond test-case tallies to deliver QA insights that drive release decisions.

We begin by exploring why management values coverage maps, risk heatmaps, and confidence over raw numbers.

We’ll also walk through a real release report that fell flat on tests-only metrics and then re-tell it with our “coverage + confidence” narrative to showcase the before-and-after impact.

Next, attendees will collaboratively define 3–4 core stakeholder personas—such as QA Director, Product Manager or CxO and map their top concerns and decision criteria. Building on this, the session introduces a “coverage + confidence” storytelling template.

In small-group hands-on activities, teams apply this template to craft and pitch 2-minute QA narratives tailored to a chosen persona, covering:

1. Context (What’s at stake?)
2. Insight (What your data reveals)
3. Recommendation (Next steps they can approve)

Through peer feedback and report-backs, narratives are refined for clarity and impact and will receive Advanced Techniques and Tips. By the end of the Workshop, attendees will leave with practical templates and persona-driven narratives to elevate QA reporting and instill confidence in every release.
