He is co-author (with James Bach) of Rapid Software Testing (RST), a methodology and mindset for testing software expertly and credibly in uncertain conditions and under extreme time pressure.

Michael has over 35 years of experience testing, developing, managing, and writing about software. For over 25 years, he has led DevelopSense, a Toronto-based testing and development consultancy.

With a passion for the technical aspects of testing, he enjoys uncovering defects and exploring the philosophical questions surrounding the purpose of testing, while staying curious about the constants in testing amid the evolving landscape of new technologies.

Currently a Senior Consultant at OBJENTIS, he plays a key role in developing testing tools, a position where it’s sometimes harder to embrace found defects.
