As a hands-on DevOps Test Consultant I help teams and organizations with improving the QA Process, comparing difficult problems with simple everyday examples. By looking at the bigger picture I help solve the details. In this way improvements are done in a scalable and predictable way.

I have experience with different products which support e-commerce flows, where I’ve worked on projects involving different test automation tools like Selenium, Puppeteer, Pact, Postman, etc. Within these projects I’ve learned that it provides more benefits to focus on the problem that’s at play, instead of focusing on tool selection. In my opinion test automation should provide a solution to a problem, and should not be a goal on its own. My ambition is to keep working on new projects where I can learn something new every day. I feel most challenged in environments with a lot of activities, where I can contribute to the vision of the company.

I have been working with Test and QA for 25 years, acting in a wide variety of roles ranging from managerial, methodical, and operational, to technical areas of responsibility. Genuine and passionate interest in software quality, especially in how to achieve the required quality efficiently and effectively. I have therefore fully devoted my work to focusing on finding smart and innovative ways to improve development / test process aligning with technology, people, and organization. I am currently working with Predictive Analytics and Machine Learning algorithms to improve our capability to leverage Test & QA services.

Dorothy Graham

Independent, UK

Dorothy Graham has been in software testing for 50 years, and is co-author of 5 books (Software Inspection, Software Test Automation, Foundations of Software Testing, Experiences of Test Automation, and A Journey Through Test Automation Patterns).

She has been coming to testing conferences since 1991. She was Programme Chair for the first EuroSTAR conference in 1993 and also in 2009. She founded Grove Consultants in 1989 which provides consultancy and training in software testing. She has been a popular speaker at international testing conferences and events over the years, and has continued to speak after retiring from Grove in 2008. Dot helped to start testing qualifications (in the UK) and helped develop the first ISTQB Foundation Syllabus. She holds the European Excellence Award in Software Testing, and the first ISTQB Excellence Award in Software Testing. Her main hobby is choral singing.

Katherine Haigh

Customer Success Manager – CoreFiling, United Kingdom

I fell in to software testing when I was at university – my brother worked for a software company in Oxford, where I was studying, and he told me they were offering summer internships. I didn’t want to be a developer, but there were also positions in ‘Quality Assurance’. I didn’t really know what that would involve but the skillset seemed like a good match for me so I thought I’d give it a go.

I’ve now been with that same company for eight years, and I’ve never looked back! Although I’m now Customer Success Manager, responsible for both QA and Customer Support, I’m not above a bit of bug hunting or end-to-end testing. I’m lucky to have influence across the entire quality and testing process, from an issue being raised to reading the happy response from a satisfied customer whose needs have been met. I’m currently working through the Interaction Design Foundation’s Usability Expert set of courses and trying to adapt the things I learn to the very specific technologies my teams and our users work with. I’m also a member of the XBRL (eXtensible Business Reporting Language) International Best Practices Board, which allows me to influence the quality of guidance written for users of XBRL technology and, in turn, the quality of XBRL data around the world. In my spare time I like to bake, blog about mental health, and play with my cat, Odo (named after the shape-shifter in Star Trek).
