Anne Kramer, PhD, started her career at Schlumberger Systems in Paris. In 2001 she joined Sepp.Med GmbH, a German IT Service Provider specialized in quality assurance, where she spent more than 20 years as Project Manager, Senior Consultant and trainer. In parallel, Anne, tri-lingual German, English and French, shared her expertise in testing methodologies in various forums. She also contributed to the development of the ISTQB Model-Based Tester syllabus and wrote (in collaboration with Pr Bruno Legeard) a guide book for testers wishing to prepare the ISTQB Model-Based Tester certification exam. Passionate with advanced test design techniques, Anne has recently joined Smartesting as Global Customer Success Manager to help the company to spread it technological innovations on the international testing market.

I’ve been working as an independent test strategist for over 20 years, with a particular focus on tooled-up exploratory testing. I’ve resisted specialising in a particular technology or market, and I’ve tried to change with my industry. My clients include retail and telecommunications, banking and social media, rapidly-evolving internet start-ups, traditional large-scale enterprise, and government bodies. I’ve worked as an innovator (loved it), and as a standardiser (less so). I work as a consultant with an eye for strategy, quality and motivation, and have stepped into roles as manager, mentor, advocate and implementer.

Machine Learning: The Problems We Don’t Speak Of!

I have worked within the field of software testing for over two decades, from testing IPv6 implementations in embedded software, to helping IT organizations with challenges in test processes. Since 2018 part of my time has been dedicated to research around the topic of verification and validation of Machine Learning functionality. Over the last couple of years I have tried to give back to the software community by lecturing and speaking at conferences, and hold courses in test methodologies at a local polytechnical college. Proud speaker at EuroSTAR 2019 in Prague 🙂

Elias Sonnsjö

Competence Leader – Invotiv, Sweden

I have been working as a test system developer and engineer for three years, mainly towards virtual testing and verification. My biggest interest is in the field of Machine Learning. It’s the selected focus of my Master’s education and thesis – how to verify the intended functionality of something trained but not coded. In two research projects carried out at Infotiv, I’ve been exploring this, finding argumentative patterns as well as hidden biases and issues concealed in one of today’s “hottest” topics. Sharing is caring, as they say, and I hope to be able to enlighten these issues and discuss them with you.

Jackie is an experienced IT QA Director with over 25 years’ experience in IT and software testing. Currently engaged as Director of Quality, North America for Planisware, she has previously held senior roles in roles with IQVIA, Aegon, Sopra Steria, and Initiative Software. She has presented at the User Conference for Advanced Automated Testing (UCAAT) and previous EuroSTAR Testing Conferences, and and was a committee member of the Scottish Testing Group until moving to the US. She has published various articles on testing, business intelligence and test data privacy. She has BA in English Language and Literature, and a Master of Science in Information Technology, both completed at Glasgow University. She grew up in Glasgow, Scotland, and is married with two boys. Now living in Princeton, New Jersey, she enjoys running, listening to music, learning to play drums, drawing, cooking, and reading.

Michael Bolton is a consulting software tester and testing teacher who helps people to solve testing problems that they didn’t realize they could solve. In 2006, he became co-author (with James Bach) of Rapid Software Testing (RST), a methodology and mindset for testing software expertly and credibly in uncertain conditions and under extreme time pressure. Since then, he has flown over a million miles to teach RST in 35 countries on six continents. Michael has over 30 years of experience testing, developing, managing, and writing about software. For over 20 years, he has led DevelopSense, a Toronto-based testing and development consultancy. Prior to that, he was with Quarterdeck Corporation for eight years, during which he managed the company’s flagship products and directed project and testing teams both in-house and around the world. Szilard has proven track record in large scale Telco DevOps Transformation Programs. He is also an assessor, trainer, facilitator and coach in Test Automation and Testing Process improvement area. As a SAFe 5.0 SPC He is running successful training and coaching sessions.
As a conference speaker Szilard is ready to share his view and knowledge with Testing Fellows, that is based on 21 years of industry experience and multitude of certificates held.
To give back to the Testing Community, Szilard is active in ISTQB as the Working Group Chair of Processes Management and Compliance of ISTQB, and the former President of the Hungarian Testing Board.
