Jonas Menesklou studied industrial engineering (M.Sc.) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology with a focus on user-centric IT security and QA. He is co-founder and CEO of the Karlsruhe startup askui, which focuses on AI-based UI automation. Parallel to his work with and in startups, he is the organizer of the communities Software Testing Karlsruhe and Automation Advocates where thousands of testers share content every day.

Lecturer / Researcher – University of Malta, Malta

Mark is a software testing researcher, lecturer and occasional practitioner. Whilst his day job is now focused mostly on academic aspects of the field, Mark has worked and consulted for companies internationally, spoken at industry conferences such as the Google Test Automation conferences and has a doctorate in software engineering. Today, Mark spends most of his time looking into open problems in software testing with a particular focus on the human tester.

The Lost Art of Taking Good Notes

Nicole is a performance engineer with over a decade of experience in breaking software and learning to build it back up again. She has lived in the Philippines, the US, Australia, the Netherlands, and Portugal, helping teams all over the world scale up their load tests on the cloud. She currently works at k6 as a Developer Advocate for performance testing, which means she learns new stuff for a living and then tells people about how she did it. She plays tabletop roleplaying games five times a week, makes videos on YouTube about taking notes, and studies more languages than she can remember.

WebDriver BiDi – The Future of Cross-Browser Automation

Jecelyn Yeen is a DevRel Engineer at Google working on Chrome DevTools. Her work focuses on the developer tooling ecosystem. She helps identify and prioritize changes to the platform and works with the engineering team to help build next-generation of tools that developers will use everyday. Prior to joining Google, she worked 10+ years as a software architect, engineering manager, software engineer in various companies from startups, SME to MNC. Ironically her favourite pastime away from work involves traveling to remote islands without WiFi for deep sea diving expeditions and reading books with tangible covers.

After nearly 40 years in the industry, software quality and testing practitioner and a post-graduate student at the University of Malta. Her research takes a people-focused approach to the design of tool support for testing. This arose from real-life experiences in the industry and led to the academic papers: “Stuck in Limbo with Magical Solutions”, “Scared, Frustrated and Quietly Proud”, and “Test tools: An illusion of usability”. Research continues with modelling and trialing a framework for test tool design. authored “Achieving Software Quality Through Teamwork” and chapters in“Agile Testing: How to Succeed in an eXtreme Testing Environment”,“Testing Practitioner”, and“Foundations of Software Testing”. has chaired EuroSTAR (2019) and HUSTEF (2018), and presented popular tutorials and storytelling keynotes at conferences worldwide. She is a Fellow of the British Computer Society and received the 2017 EuroSTAR Testing Excellence Award.

Alex is a passionate tester whose favourite topics are quality, agility and humans. She is CEO and Head of Quality at Bredex GmbH. In these roles, she supports colleagues, customers and teams on their journey to better quality – be it in products, in processes or in their communication.
