Isabel Evans

Student and Consultant – Freelance, United Kingdom

After more than 30 years in IT, on software industry projects, quality and testing practitioner Isabel Evans is now a part-time post graduate student at the University of Malta. Her research focuses on human factors in test automation, studying the interactions of people, systems, tools and technology. Her interest in this topic arose from real life experiences as a test manager, quality manager and test consultant. Isabel authored Achieving Software Quality through Teamwork and chapters in Agile Testing: How to Succeed in an eXtreme Testing Environment, The Testing Practitioner, and Foundations of Software Testing. A popular speaker and storyteller at software conferences worldwide, Isabel has chaired EuroSTAR (2019) and HUSTEF (2018), as well as presenting tutorials and keynotes at conferences world-wide. She is a Chartered IT Professional and Fellow of the British Computer Society, and received the 2017 EuroSTAR Testing Excellence Award.

Dylan Lacey

Manager of Developer Relations – Sauce Labs, Australia

G’day! I’m Dylan, and I love to solve problems, help people, hold opinions, make things, and the oxford comma. Usually I do this with computers, although sometimes a kitchen and, on one memorable occasion, 120’000 bees.

I’ve been Engineering the Softwares for over 13 years; My very first job as a baby engineer had me setting up a Selenium grid and bullying browsers into submission. I’ve build an Uber competitor (it failed), multiple teams (they didn’t), and a dozen or so Open Source projects (they’re… mixed.). Oh, and did I mention the bees?

For the past 10 years I’ve been fixing Appium problems, dispensing Selenium advice and resetting passwords at Sauce Labs. As the Manager of Developer Relations, I love working to help developers provide digital confidence to their companies and customers.

Andy Glover

Head of Test – Ideagen, United Kingdom

Andy Glover has been working in software development for over 20 years, the majority of the time in software testing. His current role is Head of Test at Ideagen, managing a team of 50 testers. Andy has written a couple of books including the popular “The cartoon Tester”.

Chris Armstrong

Product Quality Strategy Manager – Provar, United Kingdom

Chris is currently working as a Product Quality Strategy Manager at Provar. Having worked in quality for 17 years, Chris specialises in test leadership. Through the years, he has worked with and led testing teams, and has learnt the skills needed to overcome many challenges faced by team leads and test managers. Chris is passionate about quality; people, process, and products. He is an active member of the global software testing community and co-host of the popular podcast “Testing Peers”. Chris loves to engage with new people – facilitating events and interesting discussions is his bag. He has been part of the Community Team at multiple EuroSTAR conferences and UKSTAR, co-ordinating community events and leading the Huddle team of volunteers.

Thomas Shipley

Delivery Consultant – GlobalLogic, United Kingdom

Thomas Shipley is a QA currently working as a Delivery Consultant at GlobalLogic. Here he works with clients to help them improve their approach to delivering quality throughout the development lifecycle.He does this by mentoring, pairing, persuading and promoting a culture of shared quality ownership in teams.Experienced across many different industries covering retail, gaming and financial services at companies including, John Lewis, Just Eat, Microsoft and HSBC.

René van Veldhuijzen

Test Specialist – Testimist, Netherlands

René van Veldhuijzen has been active as a test specialist since 1998. With various roles in between such as Academy Coach, Unit Manager and Oracle Alliance Manager, his passion has always remained software testing, from politically sensitive projects in Test Management roles to creating test scripts using Oracle ATS or Selenium. René calls himself an Enterprise Automation Specialist, combining ubiquitous testing principles with Test Automation and Robotic Process Automation into integrated automation solutions for customers. Talking about Test Automation Architecture has brought René on stage at Accelerate (Tricentis in Vienna), SeeTest (Bucharest), Test Automation Days (Rotterdam) and as a keynote at TAPOST (Riga).

Rick Tracy

Test Pathfinder – Hapalion Consultancy, Netherlands

As a life-long student of human interaction and system optimization, I regularly delve into either or both subjects to find a new angle on improving testing as a craft. Taking on the title of Pathfinder I try to live up to the role by finding new perspectives, advancements and enhancements for testing and organizations in general. I’ve worked for retail, finance, medical and a host of other types of clients and projects. Using this variety of industries I’ve done my best to mix my experience together with that of hundreds of test experts and learning consultants, often engaging both the technological and psychological sides of testing. My interest always remains in the individual, and how each person has something to add to the body of knowledge. Stories are a constant in my life. As such, I dedicate much of my training and leisure time to seeking, hearing and continuing the stories of others. I enjoy conference for just such a reason, where we all can come together to share our slice of life and learn from one another.

Barry Ehigiator is a Software Test Engineer at Verisure, working on products designed to enable customers to manage, and efficiently use their home smart alarms. His passion is in helping teams build a quality culture based on team responsibility, collaboration, and the implementation of a well-managed context driving testing.

Barry is an avid learner, who is driven by engaging conversations and learning opportunities. When he is not advancing quality testing and systems, Barry is expanding his curiosity on human psychology, society, people, and culture. He also enjoys soccer, video games, and exercising.
