Michael Bolton

Consulting Software Tester – DevelopSense, Canada

Michael Bolton is a consulting software tester and testing teacher who helps people to solve testing problems that they didn’t realize they could solve. In 2006, he became co-author (with James Bach) of Rapid Software Testing (RST), a methodology and mindset for testing software expertly and credibly in uncertain conditions and under extreme time pressure. Since then, he has flown over a million miles to teach RST in 35 countries on six continents.

Michael has over 30 years of experience testing, developing, managing, and writing about software. For over 20 years, he has led DevelopSense, a Toronto-based testing and development consultancy. Prior to that, he was with Quarterdeck Corporation for eight years, during which he managed the company’s flagship products and directed project and testing teams both in-house and around the world.

I have spent my whole professional life in IT in different roles – tester, consultant, pre-sales engineer, business analyst, scrum master, Agile Coach and project leader – to become a full-time Release Train Engineer at Demant.

Outside the office, I share my experience with the community by giving talks and organizing workshops on software testing, Leadership and Agile processes. I’m a host of the Quare MeetCast (https://www.meetup.com/Quare-MeetCast/) – a Meetup and Podcast about Testing, Quality, Agile and Software Development.

I’m passionate about building teams, shaping culture, exploratory tests and the power of the human factor in software development. Privately foodie, traveller and book lover.

Viviane Hennecke

Associate Manager – Accenture, Germany

Viviane’s focus is on structured improvements of quality processes in scaled agile product development initiatives. For that, she is combining testing experience with her background in communication management and training skills. This combination supports in defining and improving quality assurance processes, documenting and communicating them, and bringing them to life.
After working in project management at a small digital strategy consulting firm, she joined Accenture in May 2018. Completing a trainee in “Business Analysis and Testing” she took different roles that were all related to quality assurance in scaled-agile transformations such as agile tester, agile test coach, test manager for hybrid projects, and lean-quality coach. On the side she was co-creating a train-the-trainer training, collected speaker experiences, wrote articles, and contributed to a book, among other things. Overall, she is quite keen in exchanging with the testing community.

Szilard Szell

DevOps Transformation Lead – Eficode, Finland

Szilard is a Senior Consultant of DevOps Practice for Telco Business at Eficode. Szilard has a proven track record in large-scale Telco DevOps Transformation Programs as a Test Coach with a focus on Quality Assistance. He has experience as an assessor, trainer, facilitator, and coach in Test Automation and Testing Process improvement area. As a SAFe 5.1 SPC He is running successful training and coaching sessions for larger companies.

As a conference speaker, Szilard is ready to share his view and knowledge with Testing Fellows, which is based on 22 years of industry experience and a multitude of certificates held.

Fiona Charles

Principal Consultant – Quality Intelligence, Canada

Fiona Charles is an independent consultant, workshop designer/facilitator, and international keynote speaker. She specialises in the human side of software development and projects: teaching organizations to manage their software quality risk, and IT practitioners project skills “beyond process”—hands-on practical skills essential to thrive and excel on any kind of software project. She consults with clients on software quality, testing and test management, works as an Agile testing coach, and acts occasionally as a program-level test manager on difficult projects. She has recorded several webinars, and published many articles in test-related publications.

Maaret Pyhäjärvi

Principal Test Engineer – Vaisala, Finland

Maaret Pyhäjärvi is an exploratory tester extraordinaire with a day-job at Vaisala as Principal Test Engineer. She is an empirical technologist, a tester and a (polyglot) programmer, a catalyst for improvement, a speaker and an author, and a community facilitator. She has been awarded two prestigious global testing awards, Most Influential Agile Testing Professional Person 2016 (MIATPP) and EuroSTAR Testing Excellence Award (2020), and selected as Top-100 Most Influential in ICT in Finland 2019&2020. She’s spoken at events in 25 countries delivering over 400 sessions. With 25 years of exploratory testing under her belt, she crafts her work role into a mix of hands-on testing and programming, and leading and enabling others. She leads TechVoices enabling new speakers, blogs at https://visible-quality.blogspot.fi and is the author of three books: Ensemble Programming Guidebook, Exploratory Testing and Strong-Style Pair Programming.

Kristel Kruustük

Founder – Testlio, Estonia

Kristel Kruustük is the Founder of Testlio. As the originator of the tester-friendly, globally-networked approach to software testing that Testlio is built on, Kristel — alongside her co-founder and husband Marko — led the company from inception to its Angelhack win, refinement in the Techstars accelerator program, Seed and Series A rounds, and subsequent growth. She is among the first three Estonian women to raise a VC funding round for their startup.

A passionate software tester in her own right, Kristel remains intensely focused on improving the quality, prospects and capabilities of the software tester community at Testlio, on increasing the firm’s commitments to diversity and inclusion and to underserved individuals and communities, and on angel investing and mentorship to other women-led technology companies like imagiLabs.
