EuroSTAR Tutorial: What’s the Story? Powerful Test Reporting
ABOUT THIS COURSE
When you test a product well, you interact with it and examine it critically, as deeply as you can in the time you have available. Your goal is to help responsible people — your testing clients — to decide whether the product they’ve got is the product they want.
As a tester, you’ll often face the problems of having little time, barely sufficient information, and limited resources for testing, raising the risk that important bugs will escape. Excellent reporting can help. In a powerful test report, you’ll include what your testing has revealed about the product. But you’ll also include an account of how testing was done, why your testing mattered, and — when necessary — how to make testing faster, easier, and more valuable to your clients. To be credible, you must be prepared to describe and justify the quality of your work. To the degree that the testing was wonderful, you must able to describe how and why; and if the testing was compromised somehow, you must be able to describe what got in the way, what slowed things down, what made things harder.
In this workshop, we will examine and practice the elements of excellent test reporting.
